Want to make your home more energy efficient and earn a little extra for it? Thanks to a new partnership with TVA EnergyRight, CEMC members now have access to the Smart Thermostat Rewards Program—a simple way to save energy, support the electric grid, and get rewarded for doing it.

Through the program, eligible members will receive a $65 enrollment rebate just for signing up, and then an additional $65 rebate for the year-round program (or $20 for the summer-only program) each year. If you don’t already have a qualifying smart thermostat, you can get a rebate on one when you purchase it through TVA EnergyRight.

How It Works

When you opt in, your smart thermostat may automatically adjust by a few degrees during peak demand events—those high-usage times where energy use across the region is straining the grid. These adjustments typically happen just a few times a year, last no more than up to four hours, and you’ll always have the ability to override the change if needed.

It’s a small shift that makes a big difference — helping reduce strain on the system, improving grid reliability, and lowering the environmental impact of energy generation.
