Fiber Updates Post

Our team and crews have been hard at work preparing for the launch of Cumberland Connect’s broadband services. Our broadband services will launch in Dover, TN during the first half of 2020 where construction crews have been working hurriedly for months to prepare. We have partnered with Ervin Cable Construction for our mainline fiber construction and over the past month, they have been rocking and rolling. To date, Ervin Cable Construction crews have stranded and lashed 29 miles of fiber in the Dover area and continue to work at an incredible pace!

In order to keep construction progress moving at a fast pace, our vegetation management crews are working fast to stay ahead of fiber installation crews and have their work area around the poles and lines ready to go when they arrive. Behind the scenes, our team is preparing for launch by working with our vendors on network configuration, training multiple departments including our member service staff on the new broadband service programs and processes, and designing our Cumberland Connect member experience to include free, local tech support. It’s truly been all-hands on deck and we are excited to be drawing closer to launch!
