Celebrating 5 Years of Connection: Cumberland Connect Turns Five!
May 1st marks a major milestone for Cumberland Connect: five years of serving our members with fast, reliable fiber internet.
What began as a bold vision to bridge the digital divide in our communities has grown into a full-scale fiber network that now connects over 40,000 members across our region. From day one, our mission has been simple—bring world-class connectivity to the people who call our cooperative home.
In just five years, we’ve:
- Completed a 100% fiber buildout across CEMC’s service area
- Helped students, professionals, and families stay connected with speeds of 1 Gig and beyond
- Provided transparent pricing and local support that puts people over profit
- Launched Peace of Mind services to give members even more control and protection for their connected homes
- Launched a referral program that rewards members for helping friends and neighbors make the switch to fiber
None of this would have been possible without the dedicated employees and partners who made this vision a reality. Thank you all for your hard work!
What’s next for Cumberland Connect?
Our fiber network may be complete, but we’re still just getting started! As we celebrate this anniversary, we remain focused on the future—evolving to meet the needs of our membership. So what’s next for Cumberland Connect?
For starters, we are working to expand multi-gig service availability throughout our entire territory so that all CEMC members can have access to speeds beyond 1 Gig. We’re also exploring innovative outdoor Wi-Fi solutions that will expand your connectivity beyond the walls of your home. We will provide more updates to our members as we continue to make progress.
